Among the research units (,at UPCAM is the Faculty of Law, known by the French designation Unité de formation et de recherche (or « UFR ») en droit et science politique, which is the most important of all the UFRs at UPCAM. The Law UFR at UPCAM is unique among French law faculties for the breadth of courses offered and the extent of research undertaken in a wide range of fields. The teaching faculty at the Law UFR comprises 155 professors and 172 adjunct lecturers, the latter drawn from private practice, the civil service, the judiciary and other organizations. Much of the research in law at UPCAM is done under the auspices of its many research institutes - there is one in almost every field of law.
Research activity is buttressed by a network of libraries. The University library holds an impressive collection of monographs and periodicals, including an important collection of sixteenth century manuscripts. In addition, the libraries have several specialized rooms dedicated to specific fields of law, in particular in International and European Law and Legal Theory.
UPCAM has a long history of welcoming international students to its campuses. It has many exchange programs and joint programs with institutions across Europe and around the world. The Law UFR has its own International Relations Office (distinct from that of the University) which provides academic and administrative support to law students from abroad studying at UPCAM.
